Debbie Wasserman Schultz honors history and community service in recent updates

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 25th district, shared several updates on social media recently. These posts cover a range of topics from historical commemorations to community achievements and local honors.

On December 7, 2024, Wasserman Schultz marked the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack with a tribute. She stated, "Today marks the anniversary of the tragic attack on Pearl Harbor, a day that will live in infamy. 83 years later, we honor the 2,403 lives lost and their ultimate bravery, courage, and sacrifice."

Later that same day, she congratulated new Eagle Scouts at a ceremony, highlighting her connection to scouting as a former troop leader. She expressed her sentiments by stating: "As a former Girl Scout and troop leader — and current co-leader of Troop Capitol Hill — I know Scouts make a difference in our community. Congrats to those who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at today’s ceremony! You all show that there’s no limit to what Scouts can do."

On December 8, 2024, Rep. Wasserman Schultz celebrated the renaming of Stirling Road Branch Library in Broward County in honor of Marta-Beth Friedman. In her tweet she noted: "Today, @browardcounty renamed the Stirling Road Branch Library in honor of Marta-Beth Friedman. A passionate advocate for literacy and education, Marta-Beth helped countless young minds find joy in reading and a love of learning that will last a lifetime."
