Debbie Wasserman Schultz reflects on advocacy and survival

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a U.S. Congress member representing Florida’s 25th district, recently shared her views and personal milestones through social media posts. Serving in Congress since 2005, she has been active in addressing both international issues and personal advocacy for health-related causes.

On December 6, 2024, Rep. Wasserman Schultz made a joint statement with Rep. Lois Frankel regarding an Amnesty International report on Israel. She provided a link to the full statement via her social media platform: "My statement with @RepLoisFrankel on Amnesty International’s recent report on Israel: https://t.co/gOJxcqsO24".

The following day, December 7, 2024, she marked her 17-year anniversary as a breast cancer survivor. Reflecting on this personal milestone, she expressed gratitude for life and the ability to witness significant family events such as her children's Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and their college graduations: "Today marks my 17 year #BreastCancerSurvivor anniversary...I'm truly thankful."

In another post on the same day, Rep. Wasserman Schultz highlighted how these family moments inspire her professional dedication to early cancer detection and legislation aimed at saving lives: "Being present for so many family milestones is what drives me...#EarlyDetectionSavesLives".
