Don't let the weekend festivities blow your fun. Here are just a few tips to having a safe holiday weekend:
Noise from explosives can spook animals and cause injury. Keep fireworks away from animals and pets and from neighboring agriculture and farming areas.
Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks.
Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy in case of fire or other mishap.
Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly.
Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that have not ignited fully.
Never use illegal fireworks.
