Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 25th district, recently posted a series of tweets concerning college basketball and political issues. Wasserman Schultz, an alumna of the University of Florida, has been a part of Congress since 2005 following her earlier political career in Florida's legislative bodies.

On April 5, 2025, Wasserman Schultz expressed her enthusiasm for the Florida Gators’ prospects in basketball, stating, "My @FloridaGators are going to beat Auburn tonight (again)!" She elaborated on the historic aspect of the match, emphasizing that "with @UF’s Golden, Auburn’s Pearl and Duke’s Scheyer still in play, at least one Jewish coach will play for the championship!"

Later on the same day, Wasserman Schultz humorously remarked on the underachievement of Auburn’s basketball team compared to its multiple mascots. She tweeted, "Auburn, you got more mascots than championships!" Directing the message to Rep. Terri Sewell and Rep. Craig Ford, she added, "the Tigers are #GatorBait."

The next day, she took a more serious tone, addressing political concerns. On April 6, 2025, Wasserman Schultz expressed criticism of what she described as dangerous actions by Republicans, outlining issues such as mass firings and the sharing of classified information. She asserted, "Republican mass firings, vital service cuts, and reckless classified info sharing — it’s all incredibly dangerous and destructive." She committed to continued opposition, stating, "And I'll keep fighting it with all I’ve got."
