In August 2022, the City Commission approved a $2,954,062 agreement with Poseidon Dredge & Marine, Inc. for the Southeast Isles Seawall Replacements and Stormwater Improvements Project. This project includes the replacement of approximately 790 linear feet of existing seawalls along SE 10th Street and along East Las Olas Boulevard. The new seawalls will be constructed using corrosion-resistant steel sheet-piles with a concrete cap and will be elevated in accordance with the City’s seawall ordinance. Nearby stormwater infrastructure will be improved to ensure proper drainage of surface water runoff. For details, visit ftlcity.info/3pmxTNB.

Construction along SE 10th Street began on Monday, July 17 and is expected to be completed in early 2024. Crews began working along the south side of Las Olas Boulevard on Thursday, September 7 and completion is expected in summer 2024. The first seawall to be replaced along Las Olas Boulevard is the one between Coconut Isle Drive and Lido Drive and crews will continue to move east along Las Olas Boulevard. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank our neighbors for their continued patience as we work to replace these City-owned seawalls as quickly as possible.
