CITY OF HOLLYWOOD: Elevated Level of Construction Noise in Neighborhood Near Wastewater Treatment Plant

City Of Hollywood issued the following announcement on Aug. 11.

Elevated Level of Construction Noise in Neighborhood Near Wastewater Treatment Plant

As part of the updates at the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility to comply with the Ocean Outfall Legislation (OOL), activities associated with the construction of Deep Injection Wells 3 and 4 Pump Station is resulting in increased noise levels in the vicinity of 14th Avenue between Taft Street and Thomas Street. At this time, the contractor is installing sheet piles to secure the excavation sites. The noise associated with this type of  construction activity is unavoidable at times. Crews are making every effort to minimize the disruption while quickly working to complete this necessary portion of the project.   

Sheet pile installation is expected to take place during normal business hours. Phase 1 of the sheet pile installation is expected to continue Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM through Friday, August 19th. The Department of Public Utilities apologizes for this inconvenience and thanks you for your patience during this construction project.
