On February 11, 2025, Rep. Wasserman Schultz met with Maj. Gen. Haas, Adjutant General of Florida's National Guard. She discussed the needs of the National Guard to better serve Floridians and emphasized her commitment as Ranking Member of the MilCon/VA subcommittee to advocate for their benefits. The following day, February 12, 2025, she criticized former President Donald Trump’s proposal to cut NIH research funding in favor of tax breaks for billionaires.
