Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a U.S. Congress member representing Florida’s 25th district since 2005, has voiced her concerns over several political issues through social media. Known for her active participation in legislative matters, Schultz has shared her perspectives on healthcare policies and international relations.
On June 15, 2025, Schultz criticized a proposed bill by former President Donald Trump, describing it as the “Big Ugly Bill.” She stated that the bill would remove healthcare from millions of Americans and increase national debt while implementing significant cuts to nutrition assistance programs. Schultz referenced a report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), noting that “the Big Ugly Bill massively benefits the wealthiest at the expense of working Americans.”
The following day, on June 16, 2025, Schultz addressed international security concerns related to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. She highlighted Iran’s alleged intentions to provoke Israel by supporting terrorist groups targeting civilians with missile attacks. Schultz expressed concern over these actions occurring alongside calls for Israel’s destruction and incidents involving attacks and kidnappings of American citizens. Her statement emphasized that “Their plan is clear: provoke Israel by funding terror groups that lob missiles at civilians, then play victim when Israel responds.”
Later on June 16, 2025, Schultz returned to domestic policy criticism regarding Trump’s administration. She pointed out what she considered hypocrisy in Trump’s spending decisions amid efforts to cut healthcare coverage and budgets for essential services. Specifically, she mentioned Trump’s expenditure of $45 million on a military parade while pursuing policies that could harm public welfare. Schultz succinctly described this situation as “peak hypocrisy.”
Debbie Wasserman Schultz was born in Queens, New York in 1966 and currently resides in Weston. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida.
