Later the same day, she turned her attention to recent violence in Florida, where two individuals were killed at Florida State. Her tweet on April 18, 2025, addressed gun control issues: “Two people at @floridastate were killed yesterday – and more hurt – but Republicans in Florida want to get rid of post-Parkland reforms that would make the suspected shooter able to buy a gun legally. We need to keep people safe, not give more access to guns.”
Regarding education policy, Schultz expressed concern over the closure of Head Start offices. In a tweet sent on April 18, 2025, she spoke on the impact of these closures, asserting, “When Trump closed Head Start offices, I joined 33 Democrats to oppose it. Eliminating it was clearly the end goal – now it’s out in the open. With no Head Start, 750K+ families lose childcare overnight. Trump’s plans leave our families and children behind.”
