On Saturday, March 8, former City-Pembroke Pines Charter High School standout Alanah Velazquez’s current college team, the Northern Illinois Huskies, lost 8-0 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Southern Illinois Salukis.

The game took place at Charlotte West Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Salukis this season.

The Huskies’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at Charlotte West Stadium against Wisconsin Badgers.
