Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 25th district, took to social media to address several pressing issues. Her statements focused on topics ranging from veteran affairs to economic and healthcare policies.

In a tweet posted on April 16, 2025, Schultz criticized Donald Trump’s actions concerning veterans, asserting, “Donald Trump isn’t trying to help veterans. He’s undermining them.” She shared a clip involving George, a veteran and former VA employee, to highlight the impact of what she termed Trump’s chaotic policies on veterans.

Later on the same day, Schultz turned her attention to economic matters. She expressed concern about the implications of Trump’s tariff policies, stating, “Fresh produce & seafood prices will spike first, then coffee & sugar. Trump’s incoherent tariff policy is taking money from your wallet, not a foreign company’s.” Schultz assured that the House Democrats would oppose what she referred to as “Trump’s Tax on hardworking Americans” and advocated for investment in America.

On April 17, 2025, Schultz addressed healthcare concerns, particularly around Medicaid, in another tweet. Noting the potential loss of healthcare for vulnerable individuals, she commented, “Republicans want to rip health care away from people who really need it.” Schultz highlighted the importance of Medicaid to millions of Americans, emphasizing that wealthier individuals such as Elon Musk and Donald Trump might not appreciate the program’s critical role.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th District in Congress since 2005, succeeding Peter Deutsch. She was born in Queens, New York, in 1966 and now resides in Weston. She graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in 1988.
