On Wednesday, April 23, former City-Pembroke Pines Charter High School standout Alanah Velazquez’s current college team, the Northern Illinois Huskies, lost 9-2 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Illinois Fighting Illini.

The game took place at Eichelberger Field. This was their first matchup against the Fighting Illini this season.

The Huskies’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 25 at 3 p.m. at Mary M. Bell Field against Akron Zips.
