U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who represents Florida’s 25th district in Congress, posted a series of messages on social media reflecting on the anniversary of September 11, advocating for worker protections and healthcare reform, and criticizing recent vaccine policies in Florida.
On September 11, 2025, Wasserman Schultz commemorated the anniversary of the terrorist attacks with a message honoring victims and first responders: “The tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001 changed our nation forever. Out of its horror and heartbreak, heroism and unity emerged. Today we remember those we lost, be it friends, family or first responders who sacrificed it all. #NeverForget911

The following day, she addressed economic issues facing workers and health professionals: “All workers need higher wages, cheaper healthcare and Rx, and our health workers need policies that don’t destroy jobs. That’s what I fight for 24-7.

Later that same day, Wasserman Schultz criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ approach to vaccine policy: “I joined educators, child doctors, vaccine experts and business leaders today to share how DeSantis’ reckless vaccine assaults hurt kids, seniors, hospitals and our economy.
We need safe medicines, not wild conspiracies to keep us safe. https://t.co/Qg3a9OtuZY” (posted September 12, 2025).
Wasserman Schultz has served in Congress since replacing Peter Deutsch in 2005 and previously held seats in both the Florida Senate (2000–2004) and House of Representatives (1992–2000). She was born in Queens in 1966 and currently resides in Weston. The congresswoman is an alumna of the University of Florida.
