Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 25th district since 2005, shared a series of posts on October 6, 2025, highlighting her advocacy for healthcare access and crime victims’ rights.
In a post published at 13:57 UTC, Wasserman Schultz stated, “I was able to beat breast cancer thanks to quality, affordable health coverage. If Republicans rip away affordable coverage, they’ll stop millions of Americans from doing the same.”
Later that day at 19:38 UTC, she addressed the issue of sex trafficking and legislative efforts related to high-profile cases. She wrote, “Sex traffickers should face consequences for their crimes. No more backroom deals. We must pass my Courtney Wild Reinforcing Crime Victims’ Rights Act to hold Epstein’s accomplices accountable and ensure sex traffickers get more than a slap on the wrist.”
At 21:24 UTC on the same day, Wasserman Schultz referenced her longstanding commitment to cancer education and support for survivors: “I’ve advocated for cancer education, early detection, and support for survivors for my whole career. As healthcare and cancer research comes under attack, we must keep fighting for these goals. So proud to share that message at the Hepburn Center’s Stiletto Cancer Walk in”.
Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th district in Congress since replacing Peter Deutsch in 2005 and previously served in both chambers of the Florida legislature from 1992 through 2004. Born in Queens, New York in 1966 and now residing in Weston, she is also an alumna of the University of Florida with a BA earned in 1988.
