Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 25th district, has voiced her concerns on social media regarding various issues including gender pay disparity, immigration policies, and disaster recovery efforts.
On March 25, 2025, Rep. Wasserman Schultz addressed the issue of gender pay inequality by highlighting that “Women working full time earn 83¢ for every dollar a man earns.” She noted a decline from the previous year when women earned 84¢ to a man’s dollar and emphasized the importance of progress in this area by stating, “We can’t keep going backward.” The tweet was posted with the hashtag #EqualPayDay.
The following day, on March 26, 2025, she expressed her disapproval of certain immigration practices by alleging that “Trump deported a Venezuelan refugee to be tortured in a foreign prison with no evidence and no due process.” She criticized this action as an example of tyranny and called for adherence to the rule of law.
Later that day, Rep. Wasserman Schultz criticized proposed changes to disaster recovery support in Florida. She stated that “FEMA helped Florida recover from devastating hurricanes last year,” mentioning the restoration of power to three million residents and delivery of over twelve million meals. She opposed what she described as Trump’s desire to leave “Florida families twisting in the wind without help.”
