Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 25th district, expressed her concerns over recent legislative proposals in a series of tweets on June 6, 2025. Her comments were directed at Republican-led initiatives she views as detrimental to vulnerable populations.

In a tweet posted on June 6, 2025, at 14:22 UTC, Wasserman Schultz criticized the Republicans’ Agriculture funding bill. She stated, “If Republicans’ Agriculture funding bill cared about fiscal responsibility, it wouldn’t rip food from pregnant women and kids to give billionaires a tax break.”

Later that day at 19:16 UTC, she reiterated her opposition to the same bill by emphasizing its impact on children and contrasting it with America’s wealth. She tweeted, “The Republican Agriculture funding bill takes food off the table of hungry kids, all to give billionaires a tax break. America is the wealthiest country on Earth. This is cruel and unnecessary.”

In another post at 22:05 UTC on June 6, Wasserman Schultz addressed additional concerns regarding immigration policies tied to Republican initiatives. She declared, “This is horrifying. And the Republicans’ Big Disgusting Abomination not only pumps $45 billion into ICE detention—it allows Trump to jail immigrant children in private prisons indefinitely.” The congresswoman used the hashtag #KillTheBill to signal her strong opposition.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been serving in Congress since replacing Peter Deutsch in 2005. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives.
