U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who serves Florida’s 25th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on March 12, 2026, criticizing the Justice Department’s handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The posts focused on alleged illegal redactions and called for greater transparency and compliance with the law.

In one post, Wasserman Schultz stated: “The Justice Department even redacted Epstein’s own email in this document. This makes it crystal clear that we cannot trust @TheJusticeDept to follow the law or protect victims on their own. And that is why I won’t stop fighting until we get justice for the victims.” (March 12, 2026)

She also highlighted concerns about information withheld regarding individuals potentially involved in hiding evidence: “In this document is an illegally redacted name of a private investigator, who may have hid evidence of Epstein’s crimes. @TheJusticeDept should unredact it immediately.” (March 12, 2026)

Additionally, Wasserman Schultz pointed to what she described as violations of recent legislation: “I found illegal redactions when reviewing Epstein Files last week. #22 in this document is a billionaire that Epstein’s accountant just told @OversightDems bankrolled his operation. Redacting it violates The Epstein Files Transparency Act. DOJ must fully comply with the law.” (March 12, 2026)

Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th congressional district since 2005 after succeeding Peter Deutsch and previously served in both chambers of the Florida legislature. She was born in Queens, New York in 1966 and currently resides in Weston.
