U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who serves Florida’s 25th district in Congress, has used her social media platform to advocate for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein and call for increased transparency and justice for victims.
On November 17, 2025, Wasserman Schultz posted on X: “Dragging out the release of the Epstein files only hurts the survivors. Releasing them gives victims a measure of justice and provides transparency to the American people.”
The following day, she continued her remarks by highlighting issues with victim notification during Epstein’s legal proceedings. On November 18, 2025, she wrote: “Epstein’s victims were never notified about his sweetheart plea agreement. Transparency was a problem from the start. My bill would ensure that kind of shady deal never happens again and any future victims get the justice they deserve.”
Later that same day, Wasserman Schultz addressed recent congressional actions regarding the Epstein files: “Democrats demanded release of the Epstein files. Today, a huge bipartisan majority joined us. But Trump – who can release them right now – will try to bury the truth. We’ll keep demanding accountability, transparency and justice for these brave survivors.”
Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th district since 2005 after succeeding Peter Deutsch in Congress. She previously served in both chambers of Florida’s state legislature between 1992 and 2004 and holds a BA from the University of Florida (FACTS 1-4). Born in Queens in 1966, she currently resides in Weston.
Her recent posts underscore ongoing efforts within Congress to address past failures regarding victim notification and plea agreements in high-profile cases such as that involving Jeffrey Epstein.
