In a post at 14:30 UTC, Wasserman Schultz announced, “I’m proud to have secured a $2 million federal investment to support @FeedingSouthFL’s work to end hunger in our community. Food is way too expensive, and this Mobile Emergency Response Kitchen will help make it more affordable for vulnerable families.”
Later that day at 18:59 UTC, she reiterated her commitment to environmental conservation by stating, “I’ll always fight to protect the Everglades, a vital water resource for millions. Even in a divided Congress, I’m still able to secure major victories to revitalize our cherished River of Grass.”

Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th district since 2005 after serving in both the Florida House of Representatives and Senate. She was born in Queens, New York in 1966 and currently resides in Weston. The Congresswoman graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
