Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, serving Florida’s 25th district, took to social media to share important messages on both cultural and political issues. Her communications touch on the celebration of religious traditions and address pressing political matters, reflecting her commitment to her constituents and the ethos of public service she has embodied since 2005.

On April 12, 2025, Wasserman Schultz wished her followers a “Chag Pesach Sameach”, marking the beginning of Passover. She expressed the occasion as a moment to reaffirm values such as “freedom and justice,” and extended her hopes for a “peaceful and joyous holiday” for all families celebrating.

Two days later, on April 14, she addressed an issue involving hurricane recovery funds. In her message, she stated that “Trump illegally froze $300M in flooding help” bound for affected communities. During a Florida delegation hearing focused on hurricane recovery, Wasserman Schultz noted that her “Republican colleagues were silent,” but emphasized her determination to “fight non-stop” to restore the resources she characterized as unjustly withheld.

Later that same day, Wasserman Schultz voiced her opposition to former President Trump’s actions regarding flood relief, aligning her perspective with the Supreme Court’s view and “basic human morality”. She criticized Trump for “doubling down on cruelty” instead of addressing and correcting the situation.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has a long history of public service, having served in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 25th district since 2005. Her previous political roles include the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. She holds a B.A. from the University of Florida and currently resides in Weston.
