Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 25th district since 2005, addressed several policy issues in a series of tweets posted on December 1 and 2, 2025.
On December 1, Wasserman Schultz criticized Republican health care policies, stating: “Republicans are raising health insurance prices for everyone to pay for their billionaire tax breaks. George sees it firsthand at his company, and understands that pain is coming.”
Later the same day, she highlighted her long-standing efforts to prevent drownings and advocated for increased funding for her legislation: “I’ve fought to curb drownings my whole career & am pushing to fully fund my VGB Pool & Spa Safety Act to support drowning prevention initiatives. When I hear about these tragedies, it fires me up to secure these funds. My heart goes out to this family.”
On December 2, Wasserman Schultz commented on criminal justice and former President Donald Trump’s policies: “Emptying prisons to release drug dealing criminals into our country. Once again, Trump puts the wealthy and well-connected over the rest of us.”
Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th District in Congress since replacing Peter Deutsch in 2005. She previously served in both the Florida Senate (2000-2004) and the Florida House of Representatives (1992-2000). Born in Queens, New York in 1966, she currently resides in Weston and graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in 1988.
