U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who represents Florida’s 25th district, posted a series of statements on September 13, 2025, highlighting her bipartisan work in Congress and addressing issues ranging from political polarization to federal agency leadership and tariffs.
In a tweet posted at 14:16 UTC, Wasserman Schultz wrote, “As political violence and polarization rise, it’s even more critical to get real, bipartisan work done for all Americans. I proudly reached across the aisle to protect NOAA in the Appropriations Committee this week to kees us all safer.”
Later that day at 18:02 UTC, she addressed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), stating, “Florida needs a strong, smart, swift FEMA. Qualified professionals must lead this agency, not people playing dress-up. As an @AppropsDems, I make sure FEMA has resources it needs.”
In her third post of the day at 21:06 UTC, Wasserman Schultz commented on tariffs affecting consumer prices: “You notice higher tailgate supply prices for the @GatorsFB game? Me too. Tariffs are a Trump Tailgate Tax, plain and simple. I’m working to end them.”
Wasserman Schultz has served in Congress since 2005 after replacing Peter Deutsch and previously held seats in both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. Born in Queens in 1966 and currently residing in Weston, she is also an alumna of the University of Florida (1988).
