U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who represents Florida’s 25th district in Congress, addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on her official social media account this week.
On March 19, 2026, Wasserman Schultz criticized members of former President Donald Trump’s administration for their actions regarding social welfare programs. She wrote, “People serving in Trump’s Administration vowed to protect the vulnerable, then helped gut vital programs that feed women and children. Actions must reflect values, or more people will die.”
The following day, March 20, she called for increased funding for nonprofit security grants after meeting with local law enforcement and Jewish leaders. In her post she stated, “We need more Nonprofit Security Grant funding to protect our communities. I met with local law enforcement and Jewish leaders to coordinate how we can best keep people safe. It starts with investing in security.”
Later that same day, Wasserman Schultz congratulated Nova Southeastern University’s women’s swimming team on their recent national championship win: “Congratulations to @NSUSharks on its DII Women’s Swimming National Championship, their fourth in a row! So proud to represent this amazing school and their championship-caliber student-athletes! “
Wasserman Schultz has served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2005 after succeeding Peter Deutsch. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of both the Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Queens, New York in 1966 and currently residing in Weston, she graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
