Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 25th district, addressed issues related to justice for victims of Jeffrey Epstein and ongoing healthcare policy debates in a series of posts on September 19, 2025.
In one post, Wasserman Schultz highlighted legislative action she is taking with Rep. Tim Burchett: “Epstein victims were wrongly denied justice because a secret plea deal was reached that let Epstein off easy. I just introduced a bill with @RepTimBurchett to prevent injustices like that from being repeated. Victims deserve dignity and support, not further victimization.” (September 19, 2025).
Later the same day, she commented on congressional negotiations over healthcare spending: “Republicans refused to negotiate a spending bill to prevent a healthcare crisis they created, ensure lower costs for every family & save Americans’ healthcare. Democrats have a plan to address these issues. I voted against the partisan plan because they refused to ensure” (September 19, 2025).
Wasserman Schultz has served in Congress since 2005 after replacing Peter Deutsch and previously held seats in both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. She was born in Queens, New York in 1966 and currently resides in Weston. She graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in 1988.
