Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 25th district, has shared her views on various pressing issues through social media posts. Her recent tweets address topics such as gun control policies and the situation in Venezuela.

On May 6, 2025, Wasserman Schultz expressed concern over former President Trump’s gun policies. She stated “I joined my friend @GabbyGiffords, @DemWomenCaucus, and @GIFFORDS_org Executive Director @Emma_S_Brown to discuss Trump’s horrific gun agenda.” She criticized Trump’s actions by adding that “He’s giving gun rights back to criminals and rolling back background checks. Our communities are less safe because of Trump’s agenda.”

The following day, on May 7, 2025, Wasserman Schultz addressed another international issue concerning Venezuela. She expressed relief over the release of Venezuelans who had endured months under siege. Her tweet asked, “How can you justify forcing hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans with TPS back to this murderous regime?”

Wasserman Schultz has been serving in Congress since 2005 after replacing Peter Deutsch. Her political career began earlier with roles in the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. She continues to be an active voice in American politics from her residence in Weston.
