U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who serves Florida’s 25th district, recently addressed several key issues in a series of posts on her official social media account. The posts highlighted her participation in a community event, her response to the ongoing government shutdown, and her stance on the current healthcare situation in the United States.
On October 7, 2025, Wasserman Schultz wrote, “I joined the Jewish Federation of Broward County for an incredibly moving event to remember the innocent lives lost and honor the strength of the survivors. We must stand united to push for the return of the remaining hostages and heal as a community.”
The following day, October 8, she commented on the ongoing government shutdown, stating, “It’s day 8 of the Republican shutdown, but my offices are open and working for you! If you need help with a federal agency, or want to share how the Republican healthcare crisis has impacted you, don’t hesitate to reach out.”
Later that same day, she addressed healthcare concerns in another post: “America faces a healthcare crisis we must solve immediately. This is a right now problem for millions of Americans, but House Republicans are AWOL. Watch as @HouseDemocrats hear from experts on rising healthcare costs:”
Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th district in Congress since 2005 after succeeding Peter Deutsch. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in both the Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Queens, New York in 1966 and currently residing in Weston, she graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
Her recent posts reflect ongoing concerns about community resilience, government operations during a shutdown, and rising healthcare costs—issues that remain central to her legislative focus.
