Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 25th district, has raised concerns about the potential expiration of Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits and the impact on her constituents in recent posts on X.

On December 9, 2025, Wasserman Schultz wrote, “With vital ACA tax credits set to expire, I just met with @HispanicUnityFL to hear how these price hikes will force my constituents to make impossible choices, like whether to pay for health coverage, rent, or groceries. I’m fighting to lower all these costs.”

Continuing her focus on healthcare affordability the following day, she posted on December 10: “If we don’t extend ACA tax credits, families will be forced to choose between paying rent or for healthcare. It doesn’t have to be that way. Republicans will own this healthcare cost explosion. Americans deserve better.”

In a separate issue regarding child safety online, Wasserman Schultz highlighted legislative progress later that same day: “Our lives are increasingly intertwined with the internet, and those who would commit crimes against our children know that. With my bipartisan PROTECT Our Children Act, we’ll get predators offline and keep kids safe. So proud that it passed the House!”

Wasserman Schultz has represented Florida’s 25th District in Congress since 2005 after previously serving in both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. She was born in Queens, New York in 1966 and currently resides in Weston. The congresswoman graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
